Our team is NEXT, the developer community of Neo.Since 2017, the developers of NEXT community have been distributed all over the country to participate in the infrastructure constrution and application exploration.There are people who are familiar with, like and keep a low profile. Today, I’m honored to talk with you about the things that are relevant to each Neo user.

-How to choose a cryptocurrency Wallet-

Let us talk about the first topic.As an ordinary people without compuer foundation,how can we choose a cryptocurrency wallet.

When we first entering the blockchain field,most people naturally store the encrypted asserts in the centralized wallet like the Exchange.They have no idea about the centralization and decentralization.It was not until some Black Swam (wining) events that we began to realize the risks.What are the differences and advantages and diadvantages between centralized wallet and decentralized waller?

First of all, the centralized wallet is in line with our usual internet account habits.Like most internet applications,it can be accessed as long as it is registered and authenticated and the cost of learning is very low.Once you learn it,you can forget the password and apply for it back.Therefore,most people who have justentered the circle are very receptive to this.However,the disadvantage are also obvious.

For the running logic of centralized wallet is like Alipay and bank,which means that we have put money in the vault of others,you need to apply for another application,but we can not know how the money is put into use. So there is a trust organization that misappropriated your asserts and closed down business,causing you to fail to make known the security situation,especially in our case.In the field of very early development, regulation and restriction are far from perfect.

So the decentralized wallet like NeoLine is essentially just a tool, a tool to help you trigger transfer and collection. Your assets are not stored in the product/team, but in the bolckchain.On the private key that only you keep, a simple understanding is like cash in your pocket, so you can safely take charge of your own assets.

However, at precent, the learning cost of decentralized wallet users is high, and they are not used to operating. First of all, my personal suggestion is to choose a wallet with a certain visibility of the product / team or endorsement of the project / community. After all, the first thing to pay attention to when storing assets is systemic risk, and the continuous development and maintenance ability of the project plays a decisive role.

Second, in terms of download operation, I personally recommend downloading the application that has been on the market, especially Apple users will habitually choose the signature test version, which will often suffer from losses. Some of our small assets are lazy after creating the private key and don’t care about the backup, and then the enterprise signature version often drops the signature / update, so they can’t open it and find it back. Therefore, it is recommended to try to download / testflash beta with overseas ID to avoid this problem at a large level.

The third one is about the operation password. I often forget the password. Because the password can’t be retrieved, I like the wallet that supports fingerprint / face ID, which can also avoid some problems.

-How to solve the problem of trust -

We can only trust the corresponding centralized team organization for centralized walllets. We usually consider several dimensions for decentralized walllets, one is the open source sitution, the other is whether there is regular third-party security audit.

At present, the limitation of open source is that it is impossible to judge for most ordinary users. Secondly, some large wallet products open source has certain risk of being attacked. Therefore, the arrangment of NeoLine is to open sourse plug-in version and other parts. The other part chooses to find an authoritative third-party organization to conduct regular security code audit. At persent, it is the best scheme we have set, and of course, it will continue to be optimized.

The last tip is to judge whether the wallet you are using generates a private key locally. The wallet itself does not store your private key. You can disconnect the network, and then open the wallet creation address. Normally, it can be created. If it cannot be created, there will be a problem.

At present, there are nearly 100 developers and product managers in the NEXT community. In addition to developing Neo’s infrastructure, there are also some people participating in DAPP’s exploration. Edison: The most impressive thing is that when we didn’t get close contact with the Neo foundation, we decided to make browser, wallet and other tools and smart contracts for the convenience of users step by step. These things from 0 to 1 still have a sense of achievement.

✔️As the community knows, you are a strong believer in Neo. Many people may not know how you and Neo got along. How do you know Neo, and how can you be so confident in Neo?

Edison: I’m a continuous entrepreneur. I transformed from Internet to technology finance in 2017. In 2017, we decided to do some application exploration on the blockchain. When we were faced with the choice of the underlying network to composite our applications, after studying some basic chains, Neo was the most suitable for us, so we jumped in.

Why am I so confident? At that time, we studied some basic chains, such as ETH / NEO. We agreed that Neo’s design was very suitable for service business and created a precise positioning of intelligent economy. In fact, Libra’s cases also proved this to some extent.

For example, today’s decline is quite severe, but the economy is cyclical. The end of the collapse means the beginning of the next cycle. I firmly believe that the crisis of traditional finance is a huge opportunity for the rise of digital assets.
