Whether you have an extension wallet or a mobile wallet or use another wallet, the first thing you need to do is to back up your private key.
The role of private keys
- Generate wallet address
As mentioned above, the private key is generated by the wallet, and the wallet address is calculated by the private key, one private key corresponds to one address.
- Authorized signature transaction
Every time we want to make a transfer transaction from the wallet, we only sign and authorize it with the private key before we can send it out to complete the transaction. The straightforward point is that whoever has the private key has control over these digital currencies.
- Restore the wallet
If you accidentally delete or uninstall your wallet, then you need to restore the wallet with the private key.
In the world of blockchain applications, the assets in your wallet are all stored on the blockchain, and the private key is the only certificate of your assets in the blockchain world. Having the private key will have the corresponding address assets. If your private key is lost, you will also lose control of the assets on the chain, and there is no way for any platform to help you find it.
So be sure to back up the private key safely.
The NeoLine extension wallet will remind you to back up your private key as soon as you create your wallet, so be sure to back them up immediately. If you don’t want to back up immediately, you get your key by clicking on “Account details” (the three small lines below your avatar) after you have created your wallet.
The current wallet private key generally has these two display methods: one is a character string, and the other is a two-dimensional code.

Some wallet features you may have overlooked
1. Account details
By clicking on Account details, you can view your private key, change your wallet name, view your wallet address, and receive a QR code.
2. View on NeoTube
View on NeoTube, which means you can click directly to go to the NeoTube blockchain viewer to view the detailed transaction process.
3. Remove account
Delete the wallet, if you have not backed up the private key, please proceed carefully.
4、Lock
This feature acts like a computer lock screen, helping you lock your wallet and preventing anyone using this computer from accessing wallet’s assets. BUT!!! One thing to note is that after you click on the lock, what you need to log in to your wallet is your wallet password.

5. Reset your wallet
